Free Book Give Away: On The Verge

9780310421801

We have had some great book giveaways so far and I am excited to do it again! I can’t say enough about the writers and the publishers who have generously given us books to give to you all! They definitely want some more A.P.E. Leaders released!

So let’s do it again!

This week we are giving away “On The Verge” by Alan HIrsch and Dave Ferguson.

5 COPIES!!!!

This is an awesome book on taking your church to the next level in mission. Dave and Alan use their unique gifts and perspective to help you become more missional and help move your church towards more mission…in practical ways too.

This is a perfect book if you are part of a church that has alot of people attending, but not necessarily activated in mission. This book will challenge you well to not just be an inviting church, but a missionally incarnating church as well!

My favorite part about the book is the tag team of Alan Hirsch and Dave Ferguson. Alan is a genius at missional ideology and incepting us with new imagination for church. Dave is a genius at taking the big picture, big idea, and crunching it into bite size pieces so we can do it. Plus he has done it time and time again.

I find myself reading Alan Hirsch and saying, “wow, I love this, now how the heck can I implement it?” He blows my mind up in a great way. Dave is the guy in my life that says, “Here is how you do it in these simple steps.”

I absolutely love the combo of these guys in the missional church, and I love that they wrote a book together! You definitely feel the gift of both of them inside it.

I am really excited for you to get this book!

Here is how to enter yourself for the drawing…

You can enter the drawing by doing any one of these four things. Each one is a separate entry, so you can have multiple shots at this book if you do them all!

  1. My church is stable in many ways. There is good community amongst those who come.

But our version of “outreach” is welcoming well the visitors who come. This is a great first step, but we lack vision for more than this. We (the congregation) lack desire and passion to see others come to Christ, partly because I think we haven’t seen it happen much. So I’m not sure how much we even pray for conversions. Rather I think we pray for stability or more Christian families with young kids and adults ready to volunteer. I wonder how much this is true of the church leadership as well.

I love my church and would love to see it reach the many lost in our neighborhoods. And there are some people who have gifts for evangelism if there were a vision and someone stepping up to lead. (Which I don’t think I can at this point because of doing this in my campus ministry.) But I’d love to try to meet with some key leaders to help or coach them in this.

  2. We’re in the process of shifting from being quite stuck missionally, to beginning to implement some of Mike Breen’s teaching on building a discipleship community.

  3. I’ve been trying to move my church thinking from maintenance to missional for four years, now I’m working on shifting their thinking from missional to incarnational, whilst maintaining them and leading their missional activities!
I love them very much, almost as much as I love free books 😉

  4. My church is complacent in reaching the intellectual. We have just started reaching out to the local university campus and provide transportation to the students, but we have only been shepherds toward them and revealing prophetic nuances from people in our body, but we haven’t necessarily invited them into our apostolic ministries. Yea, this book sounds awesome to help!
