Hey friends! My family and I have moved to Louisiana to plant college ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. InterVarsity is on almost 700 campuses and in 49 states. But, we have had no presence on college campuses in Louisiana in over a decade. In many parts of Louisiana it has been thirty plus years!
There are 300,000 college students and 38 campuses in Louisiana.
This is our “whole field.”
In February of 2017 I was approached by senior leadership within InterVarsity and asked to consider moving my family to Louisiana to lead the charge in planting. After about eight months of processing with mentors, friends, family and of course God, we decided to say yes to move. We took the next 8 months to transition our team in Los Angeles, and, in May of 2018 we moved!
Below is a blog series on our process of starting not just a ministry, but a network of ministries across a state. We will be as honest as we can about the ups and downs of starting something new with Jesus.
